Irregular menstruation affects pregnancy?

Hi there,
I have been living with my boyfriend for about 4 years. But we I haven't been pregnant since then. I also have irregular menstruation. Does it have any effects with pregnancy?

Hi angeljl....welcome to AMHD,

In what way are your cycles irregular? Do they vary in length, such as 22 days then 40 days apart? Do you have only a few in a year? Have they always been irregular? Have you been on any sort of hormonal birth control in the past?

First it would be wise to see your doctor to determine a possible cause. There are a number of reasons why your cycles may be irregular. If a cause is determined, then you can discuss ways of helping to regulate it. There are medical and herbal means available that can be quite successful.

Once cycles are regulated, further testing may be suggested for both your and your partner.
