Re: help with medications

Many of the drug companies have programs that help with medications and/or costs.

Purdue @ 1-800-599-6070
Pfizer @ 1-800-522-7487

Just to name a few.

I had that same problem month ago when my meds became too much to handle. There should be a resource in your community. All I did was call vocational rehab in health and welfare. They might not be able to help you but they know organizations that do. the org's work with the specific pharmactical co's directly. Something that would have cost me 1000.00 a month is now FREE!!!!

Check out:

These are jumping-off points for manufacturer-funded assistance programs that send medications directly to your Dr's office for you to pick up. Each manufacturer has specific criteria for assistance, so look up EACH medication you are on......you may qualify for some or all depending on your situation. I am a pharmacist and have set multiple patients up on these programs......it is a bit of work initially, but the savings can be significant. Good luck!

Could you please also tell what type of insurance you have, if you are discussing the new medicare plan you should see what different companies offer, Normally thier co pays are not too bad on the plans I signed my mom up for ( and my dad before he passed this year)

If this is private insurance you have though your work, you may wish to look into a medical savings plan, it allows you to put money into a "savings" account to be used for medical bills, the money goes in tax free thus saving you the tax liablilty on that money
