72 hours on average but depending on a numner of things it could be longer but no longer than 5 days however 5 days is a long time and pretty rare to show up after that long!

Marq123, what is the source of your advice? I cannot find anything this specific when a pretty non-specific question is asked. I'm reading height, weight, dosage, how long person has been using the prescription, all factor in -

I had to do 2 UAs every week for an entire year, I am training right now in chemical dependency but when I was doing UAsI every so often was on vic/Percocet for back pain. It is very non specific because everyone's bodys are different with different rates of metabolizing things. I found though in my experience that after 72 hours there were no traces in my urine. I have also tested this with at home drug tests on myself. If you want to know for sure on your body it might be a good idea to test it on yourself as well. Another factor in how long it stays in your body is also how much and how frequent you take it. I hope this helps.

I didn't ask the question, but I was looking for some clarification and a source for the OP. My research indicates body size (height and weight), dosage and length of usage are important. Also, tests are positive as follows: urine: 1-6 days; saliva: 1-10 days; hair: Up to 90 Days. I'm not reading “no longer than 5 days” and "pretty rare" advice.

And, no, testing myself wouldn't work because I don't use the drug. I also am well aware that home testing kits are not 100% dependable. That is why the Courts do not allow their results to be used as a defense.

You're working on a bachelors degree in chemical dependency, counseling?

I have also seen some sources say that time frame. From my experience working in a doctors office when receiving UAs doctors also use height, weight, dosage etc. as a factor to calculate whether the drug is being abused. It is just my opinion from experience that I say 72 hours however I have seen some sites say longer but I haven't seen as long as 6 days... I only say "pretty rare" because that is the longest it is said to stay in your system. I have never been through drug court however I understand why they send samples out to a lab and don't use at home drug tests, I mentioned those tests because it can give you a general idea for your own peace of mind. I only did that on myself because I was curious as I had a prescription. But no, I am not getting my Bachelors in Chemical Dependency, Im getting my Bachelors in psychology but focusing on Chemical Dependency.

Now I’m more confused than ever! Physicians factor in height, weight, dosage, “etc.” when interpreting drug tests (which is the question)? The OP asked about passing a drug test, how long hydrcone will test as positive in urine. Physicians don’t accept a “positive” as a “positive?” They get the test results and then review height, weight and so forth to determine abuse?

    Never knew that.

This isn’t about my peace of mind - it’s a question that was asked by someone else for a specific purpose. I personally have no interest in the subject but certainly run across test results when I’m working.

    All interesting -

I am sorry for confusing you I understand you are not the one asking for yourself. T is true that in clinics a positive is positive and a negative is negative however for instance a patient is in a pain clinic or being managed closely height weight dosage and results among other mathematical factors a doctor can determine if the drug is being abused. However if the person is not suppose to be taking the drug a positive is considered just a positive, other factors aren't important in that situation. I am also aware that all offices and doctors do things different. My advice is just advice coming from experience and have only worked as an assistant in the medical field for about 5 years. When they say 1-6 days from your sources, 6 days is at the end of the rope. The time frame in my opinion is so wide because we are all so different. You can pass in one day or it can be longer. However, it is possible but unlikely to pass after only one day and in my opinion is rare to still have it in your system after 5 or 6 unless you are a chronic user or abuser... this is only my opinion and advice... the OP can take it or leave it.

Here's my very specific concern about your answer - all of this is interesting but that isn't the OP's question.

Well the OP got his answer when you said 1-6 days and my opinion of the 1-6 days was clarified through our conversation. I still stand by my original answer.

I know you do, even though your answer is based on your personal experience and mine is based on research. I would re-read the thread. You didn't say six days. You said, "it could be longer but no longer than 5 days ..." That's why I questioned you.

If you are going into a scientific field you will need to be spot on when it comes to facts.

    Good luck to the OP!

For that matter, based on that time frame, two UAs a week for a year appear to be overkill if we are talking about "hydro."
