Can you sue a pharmacy for giving out private information about your prescriptions.
{info removed} gave out information about my prescriptions to my xhusband and when I called and ask them about this they more or less blew me off. I know that they have violated the HIPPA laws, but I want to know if they can be sued because of this.

No. You report it to HIPAA and they investigate. If they confirm the violation, the store will be fined. But HIPAA does not provide for relief to the victim.

To sue the store, you would have to show you were damaged in some way by their providing the info. AND that they were negligent in doing so.
