Birth Control

My husband and I have been together for 4 years. I am on the pill, but consistently miss pills every month, usually 3 or 4 of my active pills. He does not use a condom and does not use the pull out method. Of the 4 years we have been together I have not once become pregnant. We now want to have a baby, I have not stopped taking the pill yet, but I am concerned that it will take a while since, I have not gotten pregnant yet and have not been using the pill to the specified manner. Do you think I will have trouble? Should I get off the pill now and start trying?

The whole on/off thing with taking your pills could be messing up your hormones. If you want to get pregnant, completely stop taking your pills and you should have a better chance of conceiving

I wouldnt worry that because you haven't become pregnant yet means you wont...not taking the pill at the same time every day just decreases its effectiveness, but it is still moderately effective. you have just been lucky until now. I also suggest coming off, and please be aware that it can take healthy couples up to a year of trying before they conceive, and this can be longer when coming off birthcontrol, although not so much with pills...good luck~
