Allergic to flu shot

If I have been allergic to the flu shot in the past, should I avoid the H1N1 shot? In the past I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing with the flu shot and the MD told me not to take it again.

A Physician is the only person who can answer this - you could be allergic to anything in the shot from the binder to - ?

Do you know if they are they made with similar binders? I am a hospital employee and they want me to get the H1N1 shot, but I have read the two shots are very similar and I know I do not want the flu shot.
