That's a good link: Good tips to help coach your pre-crawler - and encouragement to not worry that he's not crawling at 8 months.

My son never crawled! He would sit and roll over to be on all fours and just pick himself off the floor. He would roll everywhere and then pull himself up. Once up he would jump in place and eventually started walking at 14 months!
My oldest daughter walked at 10 months and my middle daughter walked at 11, so they're all different. Don't worry about his crawling, it will come, but it might help to feed him more fresh vegetables and fruits to not only give him the energy he needs but control his weight if the doctor thinks he's too heavy for his age.
