Hello dmeyer6866,

As Lortab is known as a 'narcotic pain reliever' and is used to relieve moderate to severe pain, you may well be asked about it by your employers.

If you have a prescription for this medication all you should need to do is show it to them and they should accept that you are taking this drug legally and under prescription.

You can also give them permission to contact your doctor who should confirm that you have been prescribed Lortab for quite some time.

I am assuming that the narcotic which is missing is not the same as the narcotic in Lortab. If so it appears to be just a simple coincidence.

If the narcotic found in your blood test is different than Hydrocodone and/or Acetaminophen (which goes to make up Lortab) and is the same as that which has gone missing, you will undoubtedly be required to show how and why it got into your system.

I cannot see that your employers can blame you, or dismiss you for taking a relatively mild drug which has been properly prescribed by a doctor.

If they did or do I feel you may have grounds to take action against them.

Poseidon

I will assume they asked you what medications you were taking as part of the drug screen, so they should have been aware of it. If not you should ahve informed them at the time of the test what medications you are taking.

You will need to provide this to them, and they may wish to test closer as to specific drugs you are showing up.

Also depending on your job, the use of some drugs are required to reported, esp those that can effect your work., if this is the case was your employer aware of you using this drug before
