Nasal blockage with blood after

I dont know wether someone out there can help me. I have a nasal blocked without a reason. I have this problem for morethan 3 years now. I was given Otrivin a nasal drop which i have been using, i dont know what effect the nasal drop will cause on me for long using. The Hospital put me on antibiotics but it dosent help, when i went back the said it was an allergy, but dont know what i am allergic to.
Now that the weather is cool and dusty the blockage is beyond expectation that when i use the nasal drop blood comes out from my nose atimes.
Please i need help because i dont want to lose my lungs because of the prolong use of the nasal drop.

The nasal drops whenever prescribed should be used for A VERY LIMITED TIME. It appears that you have become habituated with the drops - requirement increasing gradually over the years. The drops shrink the lining of the nose giving a better airway. As the effect wears out the engorgement of the lining returns but on repeated usage, the engorgement is more than what you initially started of with. Because of the nose being so engorged it feels blocked - then more drops. Makes it a vicious cycle. Also the nose being so engorged can occasionally bleed.
The drops besides causing dependance/addiction tend to have a detrimental effect on you blood pressure.
This appears to be your obvious problem. But you MUST consult a Nose guy. It may also be worsend by allergy.
Can I ask your age and ethnicity to maybe answer better.

Thanks again for you PM.
Since you are young the nose bleeds over 3 years is not a good sign.
1. STOP Otrivine
2. Rule out any high blood pressure
3. See an ENT guy.

NB. Does it always bleed from one nostril or either one?
