cortizone shot

I just got a cortizone shot in my knee yesterday due to a slight cartlidge tear and some ligament arthritis. Now my knee hurts more than it did before. I have been iceing it like I was told. Is this normal ?????

It is entiely normal to have pain after cortizone injection. Most say, it gets worse before it gets better. A very strong anti inflammatory medication but not a pain reliever. After the cortizone works and the inflammation goes down, you will be as good as new. Unfortunately your doctor should have told you about the side effects of having a cortisone shot.
