UTI or Not When Pain in Groin Area

I had two UTIs last fall. After it cleared I still had occasional random "sensations" or pulses; not quite pain. Today it's a sharp pain every few minutes but not pain on urination. Sister had uterine cancer. I seem to be clear from check up last month. Any ideas? Tomorrow I see my urologist but think if test comes up that there is no infection, no one knows what the pain is. Cancer is always a fear.
