I have this pill I need ot take every 6 hours.

But 6 hours from now is 3 A.M..

You time it to make it manageable. Start in the morning when you get up and go on from there throughout the day. Either that or set your alarm clock (which I dont think anyone does in this instance anyway).

It all depends on the medication. Some meds can wait, while others have to be taken on time to be effective.

At the hospital if someone is prescribed a medication once every 6 hours then we give it once every six hours around the clock.

Again, it depends on what the medication is and why you are taking it. If it is for an infection, you need to take it around the clock to be most effective.
