What hormone is needed to produce mature ova?

The answer to that is more complicated than a single hormone. The maturation is dependent on the ratio of hormones. Probably the 2 most important ones are FSH and LH. FSH secretion is gradually increased as the ova starts to mature, while LH will spike in concentration just before the egg is released from the ovary. But estrogen also plays an important role.
