Barnyard Pregnancy

OK...
This will sound TOTALLY disgusting and I'm just hoping you don't take it the wrong way...
Here's the question.
Is it possible for a horse to impregnate a woman?
yes, disgusting, i know. but im one of those people who hate having an unanswered question in my head...
i know that it would probably kill the woman to have sex with the horse.. but what about a test tube baby? or an IVF sorta thing?
any comments would be handy...

Because humans are not of the same class of mammals as horses are hence they cannot cross breed.

If I remember biology correctly, the sperm and egg have to be genetically compatible. For example: you can breed a donkey with a horse and get a mule or hinny, but you can't breed a dog to a cat.

It's in the genes.

That's something to the effect of what I was going to say....they must be of the same breed of mammal. That's something like asking why a frog can't impregnate a whale...or vice versa. Not to trivialize your question. Just drawing a comparison.

fertilization requires sperm to find specific chemical markers on the oocyte. cross species fertilization here is likely impossible.

even if it were "forced" (think mad scientist) the number of chromosomes from each must match and be compatable.
