Will my wound heal if it is constantly covered by a bandage?
I have about a nickel sized or maybe even a little larger abrasion on my cheek that I got a day ago. Ever since I've been washing ti with warm water and clearasil gentle soap, dabbing it dry, applying zinc oxide ointment to it, and then covering it with a fast healing bandage that is supposedly supposed to heal it heal. If I continue doing this will my abrasion completely heal, especially if it is being constantly covered with ointment and bandages? And how long should it take to heal? Should I keep covering it for about 4 or 5 more days?

My infectious diseases doctor told me a moist wound heals faster than a dry one.

Why oxide ointment? Why not an antibacterial cream?

Thanks, I am trying zinc oxide because my friends told me using too much neosporin can be dangerous, also I've heard great reviews that zinc oxide ointment is great for healing wounds and in the past I never really saw much improvement with neosporin
