| I had sort of a similar thing not too long ago; I had a bump on my chest that didn't hurt when I pushed on it, but it wouldn't go away. I went to the doctor to ask about it (what is health insurance for, after all?) and the Dr. said it didn't look like anything serious, but it looked like it "needed to be popped" EWW! She advised me to apply warm compresses to it, which would probably encourage it to go away. I did this a few times, got busy, forgot, and before I knew it, it was gone. I didn't have the pus like you did, but I would say if you aren't experiencing a fever or any other unusual symptoms, it's probably nothing to worry about. My Dr. told me we get bumps for no good reason and they just go away all the time, nothing to worry about. Now, if you have a bump that hurts, is black, larger than a pencil eraser, or spreads, then you should get checked out. Given how you described the bump you had, it's probably nothing to worry about. Then again, I'm not a health professional.... can you call your Dr's office and ask a nurse on the phone? |
