Stomach Problems

Hi guys,

I have had a stomach problem for 3 years. Constant pain and diarrhea. it all started when I went to a wilderness camp in grade 10 where I got sick from what I think was drinking the water so I caught some sort of a parasite. I never had stomach problems before this but from then on in I have never got better. About 6 months after the camp I was given Gardia antibiotics which did nothing. After the doctors just put it off as IBS I went and saw a Naturapath who said I had Candida and put we on a Candida diet which is basically nothing. I have cut diary, gluten, sugar, preservatives, yeast u name it out of my diet which I have now been on for a year. I have got a bit better but am still really bad! I mean if I have cut this much out of my diet how can I still be bad. I have decided to go back to the doctors and ask to get a colongoscapy because mates have told me that I probably still have a parasite as I never got sick before that camp. Would anyone have any ideas of what I have or treatments? I dont want to have to be stuck on this stricter diet forver. I mean I turn 18 soon and I won't even be able to have alcohol without spending the night on the toilet! Please help.

The procedure you mention called a colonoscopy. kt, we cant diagnose on this board as we dont know all underlying medical conditions, nor can we examine you to find out what is wrong. Please go to the doctor again and as you say, ask for this procedure.
