    Staph infection
I have a staph infection so I went to the doctors and she prescribed an antibiotic, My question is how long does it take for the infection to go? I've been on the antibiotics for two days.

You will need to be on the antibiotic for at least 10 days. At that point you will need to go back to the doctor to make sure the infection is gone.

This is VERY IMPORTANT since many people who have staph infections stop taking their meds when the feel better and never go back to the doctor. Some staph has mutated so that it is antibiotic resistant.

It is called MRSA (Methacillin Resistance Staphylococcus Aureus) and is VERY dangerous.

So, be sure to take all your meds EXACTLY as prescribed and go back to your doctor for a follow up.
