Id it an ulcer or a hernia?

My husband has had this problem in his upper abdominal area for over the
past year and a half... He complains that there is some kind of Knot in that particular
area that causes him a lot of pain. It also gives him chest pains much like heart burn,
and his upper abdominal area to swell. I thought maybe it was a stomach ulcer at one
point, but we've already tried different pills and nothing works. We went to the doctor
to get his opinion and he said they could'nt do anything about it that he would need to
get an ultrasound to diagnose whether or not its a hernia.......... which he went on would require surgery, which is something that him as a bailer and I as a 16 year old mother of one can not afford,

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT IT COULD BE?

Upper abdominal area? Right or left?

Have you considered that this might be his gallbladder?

An ultrasound does not require surgery. It is used all the time, every day, on pregnant women. Ultrasound is a wonderful tool for many disorders because it does NOT require surgery and is not at all invasive.
