it is a skin condition, has to be treated by a dermatologist Ex President Clinton ha rosacea and it really isnt a big deal. You have more red pigmentation in your skin then normal. |
rosacea is also called "adult acne" b/c it involves redness and pimples around the nose and cheek area. It typically occurs in people 30-60 years old. Over the Counter it can be treated with benzoyl peroxide, if this doesn't help, then a number of prescription medicines can be used to treat it. |
See this link. Rosacea-Topic Overview Please make sure you know what you are talking about before disagreeing with people. People really are looking for competent help on this website. |
It is a chronic congestion of the face which appears between the thirtieth and fortieth years of life. Women up to the age of forty seem more subjected to the disease than men. It begins with temporary hyperemia which is characterized by flushing, permanent redness, capillary dilatation, secondary acne and sometimes by tissue hypertrophy. The rosacea begins as a temporary congestion or redness of the middle third i.e. flush area of the face, which recurs at varying intervals. |
I had rosacea as an adult...it is very unpleasant. I covered it with make-up 24/7. Being blue eyed and light skinned may have had something to do with it as my father had trouble also. I think the sun has something to do with it, but just an opinion, not verified. I don't have it any more, but thinking back, I think it was an allergic reaction to the sun and other stuff... Hope a dermatologist can do something for you. :) |
