    Right kidney spasms
I have had trouble with kidney spasms on my right kidney off and on for several years. Sometimes I go months with no pain at all then when it hits it likes to linger. I have had scans done for kidney stones that were negative as well as tests for kidney infection that were negative. I have had my gall bladder removed so I know it is not that. I have no stones and no infection. A test run in the ER showed my kidney contracting. They gave me morphine which did nothing to stop the pain it just made me loopy. The doctor told me to stop drinking dark colored drinks. This seemed to help for a while but they are back. I can take a muscle relaxer with no relief. The only relief I have found is a heating pad that is really hot. This relief only lasts as long as the heat is applied. I am a type I diabetic and I have an insulin pump. I had some kidney damage when I was diagnosed because something showed up in my urine that is not supposed to be there. They also found the same thing in the ER and told me to tell my doctor. He already knew because he is the one who told me. I was told it could possibly be kidney colic but I don't know for sure. Any information would be helpful at this poinf

If you haven't, I suggest you make an appointment with a nephrologist. Diabetes can play havoc with the kidneys.

They are hard to get an appointment with when you have no insurance and have been laid off from your job. I know I need to see someone but with lack of funding it is not possible.

Well please let me know how because my income is too high for medicaid so they say and I can't afford expensive tests that would have to be re-ran because for some reason all doctors want their own tests
