Red line from cut on my foot up to my ankle

Hi, I was wearing thong sandals yesterday that bit into my foot pretty bad. Today there's a line going down from the cut up my leg. I've never seen this before, but no red lines are bad. I'm assuming I need to go into the doctor? But, I have no insurance, so if I don't have to, I'd really rather not getting another bill I can't afford to pay.

the red line is an infection spreading up your leg or it could be a scratch from the injury you sustasined

You really really need to go to the doctor now. I forget the name of it but your blood is infected and it is very important to be on antibiotics. I don't mean to scare you but my mother had an infected cut that had done the similar thing and was told if it hadn't been taken care of when it was she could have died.

I immediately went to the doctor, and they hospitalized me immediately. Thanks everyone for your advice. I could have died from this staph infection if I hadn't gone to see the doctor.
