My puppy has fleas

My 13 week old puppy has fleas very bad and I recently bought some flea shampoo from Wal-mart but after I gave him a bath in the exact instructed way on the bottle he still had tons on him. What do I need to do to get rid of them before my dog gets really sick?

Girlfriend suggest Dawn or Joy Dish soap, let sit for few minutes, add cream rinse, rub in,
Rinse off.
Says less harmfull to animal, than chemicals.
Vet still may need to deal with worms interrupting the flea worm cycle.
Spray carpets with "Raid Carpet and Flea" Spray. keep dog off carpet after spraying,
Wash dog bedding.
For the yard she uses "Sevindust"
I don't endorse any product, read labels for any cautions, that is brands that worked for her.
Vets do have a flea drop, you put on back of neck, Last 30 Days.

do not put a pesticide on your baby. take your pup to the vet not the groomer and they have special medicated dips for them. then forget over the counter home sprays contact pest control to take care of the little buggers

A product from Avon called Skin So Soft also helps if you bath your baby in it. I have a Chihuahua and I use it on her all the time. It also will repel lots of other pests too. Files, Gnats, Skeeters(*grin*), and ticks.
