    Possible sprained ankle/foot
I was out on Tuesday night in a fab new pair of high heels and I had a bit too much to drink and went over on my heels on a flight of stairs. Luckily some guys begind me caught me and stopped me going down the stairs but I did go over on my foot further.

It was painful at the time, but started to wear off. By the time I woke up the next day (yesterday morning) it tingled slightly but went away a couple hours later. Here's where it starts getting weird. When I finally moved from bed once the hangover had cleared, I put my weight on both feet and tried to stand normally but the foot I hurt(my right one) buckled slightly and I limped around for a couple hours, but without pain. Later last night it started to feel stiff and tight. It took pressure better but still felt off. Today I did an 8 hour shift at work and as the day went on it began to gradually feel slightly uncomfortable and even a little painful at times, and when I put my weight on it although it still wasn't fully painful, I really felt the pressure on it but not my other foot when I was stannding straight with even distribution. I then bought a tubigrip and put that on it after work around 7 hours ago. Its since felt more uncomfortable and more increasingly painful and has began to look a little swollen but not much. The pain isn't agonising, its more like a mild ache, enough to register as there and annoing but nothing significant.

Any advice? Also is it safe to keep the tubigrip on over night or should I remove it before sleeping?

Oddly enough drinking when you did this (though it may not have happened if you weren't drinking) probably saved you a lot of pain. Your muscles are looser when your drunk so things that normally would hurt or even kill you won't. That being said it was probably a lot worse than what you felt, and it's lucky its not way worse.
As for advice on what to do: ice it, elevate it when possible. Don't try walking around in heels for a while, and it it's really swollen or painful see a doctor. If it's not painful enough to see a doctor try some ibprofin, it'll help bring the swelling down. It should be okay to keep the tubigrip on if you feel like you need it, but sometimes it's nice to give your skin some air so if it's an adjustable type make it a little looser, as long as it's comfortable it shouldn't hurt anything either way.
