    Parasites
Being health conscious reading up on parasites has just plain freaked me out. I mean the idea of worms or microscopic parasites living inside of you. Not to mention the percentage of people infected with parasites are just plain staggering. What do you gyes think of colonix as being a colon cleaner and a parasite remover? http://www.drnatura.com/ Anything else better recommended? Thank you.

Certain parasites are normal and even healthy. They tend to eat the bad bacteria or other parasites that may enter our bodies.

We have them on our eyebrows and eyelashes that help protect from certain eye conditions.

I am not sure about any colon cleaners, but in my microbiology class we learned that removing certain parasites can amount to bad health and the bad parasites multiplying in the body.

One of the best things I can recommend is to always wash hands after using the bathroom, and depending on where you live, do not go outdoors in the yard barefoot. These measures will help prevent the bad parasites.

    Hi,
Your previous answer is very good; washing hands often, or use one of the "hand cleaners" that is at least 60% alcohol. The "soaps" hand cleaners that come in the small bottle aren't very effective, as shown on a National Network news program on TV.
Also, see a Gastroenterologist. My wife finally went to one, and he did a "scope" test on her stomach, and intestines... found a bacteria growth that was causing her discomfort for some years past.
After his treatment with a prescription, she no longer has any problems. He/she would also be able to give you a Professional opinion about parasites.
Best wishes, and have a great week.

Sorry Fred, have to spread some more around.

Fred is right when he speaks of bacteria, sometimes it is a bacteria causing a problem, not a parasites. If you are talking about the kind of parasites I think you are, they really are rare, but see a gastroenterologist like Fred said to ease your mind.

You need to look into the meaning of ORGANIC. It isn't like the human body is a piece of plastic you can disinfect with bleach. Like J9 pointed out, there is a whole complex picture to appreciate here and without understanding that, you could cause yourself more harm than good. Optimum health in all living things involves some parasitic "cooperation". It is how it was designed.

Some rational thinking is in order. You might want to consider some hard hitting questions first.

    1. Do I exhibit any evidence that I am suffering from an infection?
    2. What is the basis of my thinking its based on parasites?
    3. Am I making a knee-jerk reaction to a partial picture simply because I am into cleanliness, or just want optimum health but aren't researching it enough?

I think more research is in order frankly and the internet is a great place for that too.

Just a few thoughts and thanks for posting.

Very very good thoughts here Val.

For the most part parasites are our friends. Very few people have tapeworms or Ascarias (Dog Worms) these days. If some people thing of ringworm, that is not a parasite, it is a fungus. All of these you can get, her in our Southern US states, simply by walking around in your backyard when it is damp, barefoot.

Colon cleansers are designed more to remove crud from our bad diets than they are to remove living critters.

Here is the colon cleansing system that I go through a couple times a year:
    http://www.hsu.com/

I don't use all the stuff they peddle on that website, but do use the "DC" series.

I don't think you should assume you've got harmful parasites living in there, but if you diet is not so hot, it's probably true that you've got plenty of crud build up that you'll be better off to have removed.

I'm no supplimental expert, but let me tell you: Since I started keeping "cleaned out" I feel so much better and have a higher level of energy in general.

The idea of parasites (e.g. worms, protozoa, rather than normal bacteria) can seem pretty freaky, but the vast, vast majority of Americans do not carry them. Worrying about them too much can be a troubling obsession, "Delusions of Parasitosis", and those with this severe preoccupation are a very unhappy lot. Address troubling symptoms if you have them, but the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor if you feel well. There are much greater threats "out there".
