Noting your location, how accessible is healthcare in your region? In particular, do you have access to a hospital, clinic, etc. and technology such as X-Ray, CT scans, etc? (I tried to look this up but found little specific information)

yes , we have hospitals with CT and x-ray.my brother is a nurse and he confirms its available in the main hospital in Banjul, that's about 15km from where I am.
But what's causing this numbness, it comes and goes and I have a backpain in my lowerback? Does this relate?

Thanks for all your help and awaits your further advise.

Afraid I can't be of much help as the possibilities are too numerous. The general condition may be neurologic in origin, anything from a pinched or inflamed nerve or it could be circulatory in origin, a narrowed artery.

Causes could range from nutrition, vitamin deficiency, to disease or injury. Even migraine can sometimes result in paresthesia.

Until they are ruled out you should assume that any associated symptom (such as back pain) is related as it could be important to the eventual diagnosis. Write each down even if it no longer seems important when you see the doctor. The facial line or "wrinkling" you mention is important for the same reason. I'm sure that in order to diagnose this you will need to furnish a medical history, have a physical examination, and laboratory tests, to begin with. .

These various possibilities have very different outcomes and treatment plans. Nerve fiber irritation/inflammation, as example, is often self correcting, while circulatory problems move in the opposite direction without treatment. So it's important to be seen by a qualified doctor, preferably neurologist. In the meantime you should make note of the following and provide the information to the doctor:

Visual disturbance, particularly on the affected side, including dry eye.
    Speech disturbance
    Sense of smell
    Hearing impairment
    Loss of balance
    General mobility and coordination
    Muscle weakness
    Fatigue
Loss or change of taste for foods
    Dizziness
    Nausea
    Headache
    History of migraine

Wish I could be of more help. Wish you the best and hope it turns out to be in the very minor category.

DRBill, thanks for all your advise.Am just going to the Doctor now and would let you know how it turned out.I will explain all that happening to me.
However I doubt such doctors would have time to carry out detailed investigations because the patients are usually many, and as my conditions is not apparent, like from afar I look OK except I tell you that I have these problems. So sometimes more attention is given who look seriously ill.

I will get back to you and inform how it went with the Dr.

    Thanks

Hello there, I saw this message while looking information on the same issue. Last night I noticed that my left leg had loss about 30% of the sensation and then later my left arm as well. I recently changed bed situations and am on the floor on a mat and so I was wondering if it was a pinched nerve. However, it could be neurological because I noticed in the past 2 years when I sit still I begin rocking forward. It's quite strange and seems to be worsening, I'm not sure what that is. Could someone please email me and give me some advise.

    Thank you!
