Menstrual Irregularrities

Hi,

I am 19 years old and have not had a cycle in 2 months. I have also had abdominal pain and severe lower back pain for quite a while. I have also been craving milk, I don't know if this is because of a lack of calcium or not. I know that I am not pregnant as I am a virgin and haven't even kissed a boy. I was just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about or not...

Thanks.

There are many other reasons besides being pregnant that would cause you to miss a cycle, stress, diet, exercise. If you miss your cycle three months, that may indicate something may be wrong, so you should see a doctor. There are ways they can induce your cycle, and regulate it after that. However if you allow it to go missed to long it could lead to other interior troubles such as endometriosis.

How is your weight?
Do you get plenty of exercise and three well balanced meals a day?

I had the LapBand surgery done on the 24th of June. At that point, I was at 248. Now, I am at 209. I have a lot of joint problems, so I don't always get the right amount of exercise; I am taking up Thai Chi to correct this. I realize I have lost weight and did ask the people at the weight loss clinic if it could be the cause of my missed cycles, but they didn't think I had lost enough weight to make me miss my period. My last cycle was July 3 and it has now been nearly 2 and a half months.
