There are (amazingly) 5 different types of Hepatitis. Essentially, it's a liver disease. :-\ My condolences to your friend.

Hepatitis is Inflammation of the hepatic system, or liver.

There 5 different kinds of Hepatitis as raw stated above, and I will list them for you

1) Hep A is curable and transmitted via the fecal-oral route, which means that most people get it at restaraunts and such when the people who prepare foods do not wash their hands after toileting.

2) Hep B is more serious, and is not curable, but there are vaccines for it after exposure. It is transmitted via blood and body fluids.

3) Hep C is one of the most serious and is also transmitted via blood and body fluids, there is a vaccine for this also.

4) Hep D is very rare and you can only have Hep D if you have Hep B.

5) Hep E is very similar to Hep A and is transmitted via the fecal-oral route also.

If you have any other questions on this, please do not hesitate to ask (psst, I passed this exam with flying colors, I know just about all there is to know about Hep), well almost.
