| Low blood pressure hi, I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. Today I had to admit my mom to the hospital against her will. She has pnuemonia and extremely low blood pressure. 70 over 30..... She is a cancer patient currently in remission. She also suffers from Lymphodema. Her legs, feet, back and stomach look horrible. They are four times the size of the rest of her and at this stage of the lymphodema the only treatment they can recomend for her is amputation, which no doctor is willing to try now because she has a normal low blood pressure and now has a heart condition on top of no immune system . Ok, i strayed from the question which is simply this,. The doctors have been trying to raise my moms blood pressure with iv meds and everything they use has been causing her heart rate to sky rocket. What is going to happen if they cant get her blood pressure to within a normal range? I asked the doctor who is taking care of her and the only thing he told me is " bad things" .. that's not an acceptable answer. I need to know to prepare myself for whatever is going to happen. I'm my moms health care proxy. She has signed a dnr and well, I'm scared for her and my 10 year old sister who still lives with my mom. My mom is in extreme pain. She isnt very coherant when she talks now,not making alot of sense. It's not from drugs either its from the pain. And the doctors wont give her anything until her blood pressure and heart rate stabilize... It's heartbreaking to sit there and be able to do nothing when your mom is crying and in pain. I mean, I do what I can, I hold her.. I rub her back and rock her like I would one of my children but I dont think that helps her. My heart is breaking for her. :'( |
