Hearing and eyesight question.. read

i have two sisters who have been deaf since birth. i am the middle child yet i was unaffected. they also are having a problem with their eye sight. its like tunnel vision i think. as the years go by their side vision keeps shrinking. my older sister cant see anything thats not in front of her. i was told there was a name for the eyesight problem but combined with deafness i hear it is another thing. i know its genetic and i was wondering if anyone knows what its called and if i could possiblt pass it on to children if i was to have any

Michelle, this is usually a question of genetics. While you may not suffer, you may possibly be a carrier. Your sisters suffer from the disorder, but may have children who do not.

Your best bet would be to seeks the guidance of a genetic counselor. They can do testing if you want and are able to give sound advice.
