Feeling hot even though skin is not?

Recently, during night time, I find myself feeling a burning sensation as if I'm feeling hot. This feeling is mostly in my back. Mostly during the time I'm just about to go to bed, or if I wake up in the middle of the night. Sometimes I will sweat a little but other times I won't sweat at all. I am certain that my body temperature is not high nor am I running a fever as when I touch my own back with my hand or any other part of my body, my skin actually feels cool.

Does this condition mean anything? It seems to be just a bit of an annoyance right now, but I hope it doesn't turn into something big.

Maybe it would be good to mention that I had heart problems, tetraology of follot and my pulmonary valve has been replaced once.

My daughter has Tet. of Fallot, but she is only 17 mos. The cardiologist would always tell me to watch if when she was eating, if her head would sweat too much..it was not a good sign that she was getting enough calories and working too hard. Her head would sweat off and on as a baby but stopped after her final repair when she was 5 mos. old.

Ask your cardiologist. I know these are maybe just signs of your condition, b/c of the temp. thing with my daughter...cold feet, warm face.

If they are doing echoes and saying you are okay, then that is what you go on. If your color is good in your fingertips and gums, then the heart should be ok...could it be hormonal?
