Causes of Internal Cancer. Any Links to the Food That We Eat and What We Drink?
    Hi, All!

My dad passed away from cancer in 1982 at the age a 70. One of the things that he did for a living, was that he was a mailman for 37 years.

His cancer started on his face. After a few years, cancer was found in his lymph nodes around his neck. He had an operation to remove the lymph nodes that were affected by the cancer. He chose not to do chemo but did do the radiation thing.

We all thought that the skin cancer had spread to the inside of his body. I've often wondered though, if what he would eat and drink every morning might have contributed to the cancer forming inside his body.

Every day for many years, my mom and he would get up at 4:30 A.M. and my mom would fix him, eggs, bacon and coffee.

Could that combination of food and drink possibly have been a contributing factor to cancer forming on the inside of his body?

    Thanks!

Clough, what affected him was not his food, but the fact that the cancer metastisized past his lymph nodes. He chose not to take chemotherapy, so he knew the risk he was running regarding the spreading of the cancer.

The root cause would have been too much UV exposure which started the ball rolling in a bad direction.

So, could skin cancer possibly spread to the inside of a person's body? I think that you know that I've already had a about with the skin cancer thing.

But, mine was basil cell. I'm not sure what his was. I didn't know very much about skin cancer back then...

No connections to food and drink at all for people in general?

No connections to food or drink Clough.

There are several kinds of skin cancer: basal cell, squamous cell, kaposi's sarcoma, cutaneus lymphoma, among others.

Luckily your's was nonmelanoma skin cancer and is one of the most common forms of skin cancer.

Cancer is basically linked to genetics, other studies are being done to link stress and cancer.

That which is on the inside of the body as compared to that which is on or somewhat below the surface of the skin.

I don't know a lot of the terms...

Clough, I am sorry about your father.

Most likey he was not only genetically predisposed to cancer, but also spent much time in the sun causing the increased risk.

It certainly wasn't food that caused his cancer.
