Are you referring to the FEV1 [ forced expiratory volume in 1 second ] ?

This is one of many parameters measured in a PFT [ pulmonary function test ].

A low FEV1 MAY indicate chronic [ bronchitis / emphysema ] obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma or restrictive lung disease. It has to be interpreted in the context of the rest of the test results.

If you smoke - try to stop.

Try to get the exact interpretation of your PFTs.

Grace and Peace.
