Broken Back

Please help me.My husband broke his back at work.Workmans Comp has taken over, but move like snails. It may take 6 months for him to get his back rebroken and fixed. He isn't even ambulatory and i haven't even gotten his wheel chair yet! He is being fitted today for a Kytex Vest and my question is as convoluted as my thoughts,i am sorry,my question is ,after the vest and wheelchair, will he be more manageable as far as meds? He is on liquid demerol and it only helps about 2 hours if he doesn't have to move,at all! Which is impossible.Even to urinate in a urinal is hard.I know the in and out with these appt. is only making it worse. He is at his worst, and i fear for his sanity and mine.Any suggestions?I realize this is a complicated one but i am having trouble thinking,by the way, I have M.S..........
