Lump on Knee?

Ok so I had been working at my last job since december and in January I had a small hard lump come up on my knee. I worked in a large store that is entirely concreet flooring, and it involved alot of walking, bending and going up and down ladders. As the weaks progreesed the lump got slightly bigger but the pain shot threw the roof. I started missing days although since I had started owkring I hadn't missed hardly any days. I went to a doctor and they told me that it was an athletic injury and that I also needed to lose weight. He gave me a note to go to light duty for two weaks. My employer for about 4 days gave me a stool to sit at my registar and I also put up stock at the end of the night but nothing that required bending or ladders. Some of my coworkers didn't mind but some(who didn't like me to begin with) threw a fit and caused problems. Well they called me to the back one day and told me that I needed to go on medicle leave since I couldn't do my job (cashier) (sigh). So I took my paper work and they were suposed to write me off of the secdual. Aparently no one told my manager what I was told either. I was told I didn't need to call in everyday since they new I was out. Anyways I took the paper to the doctor who wouldn't fill it out cause he said he didn't want to be in trouble. (sigh) So I called work and they told me that I was already fired and if I wanted my last check I would have to go in and sign for it. Well I had bills to pay so I did. I got onto a Gold health card which is basicaly a discount card but when I applied I had a job so I still had to pay. I went to another doctor who basicaly said the same thing.. I've been looking for a job since July when I found out I lost my job. My question is should I bother with going to another doctor?
I still can't walk threw the store without the pain. My mom said she went threw the same thing but she had to keep working and let the lump (her's were tumors) just get huge before anyone would do anything with it.
