rate performing a task

Hi everyone. My nephew wants to use the site so he is asking a question for the first time.

Here's the question:

It takes 7 hours for 2 workers to perform a certain construction job. How long will it take 4 workers to do the same job?

galactus Mathematics Expert Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Chaneysville, Pa. Posts: 897	Think about it a little. 2 workers do it in 7 hours. Wouldn't it take 4 workers half that time? YOu can set up a proportion also. $\frac{7}{4}=\frac{x}{2}$ Solve for x.
