2x-5y=4
-5y=-2x+4 after this im so lost
y=2/5x-4/5
slope is 2/5

Seems simple enough:

2x-5y=4

Actually, you just want the form y = mx+b, then m is the slope and b is the y intercept (x=0)

You want a positive y, so you nned to re-arrange the eqn as:

2x=5y+4 ; all I did here was make y positive

re-arranging as close to y = mx +b

2x-4 = 5y

re-arrange again

a) 5y=2x-4

almost. Now get y by itself by dividing by 5

y = 2/5(x) - 4/5

slope is 2/5

or, from where you got lost

-5y=-2x+4

multiply both sides by -1;

and your at my eqn labeled a

5y = 2x -4

starfirefly agrees: thankyou so much
