Number sequences
Hey people just had a little arguement with a room mate over the number sequence...1, 8, 27, ??...it appears in iq tests and stuff and the answer is either 36 or 64...if someone is able to figure out and give me reasoning as i would like to clear up this little tiff....thanks heaps

It's 64, the sequence is described by the formula:



is undisputedly 64.

I don't see any way for the answer to be 36 without some contorted logic. But with only the first 3 terms given, it may well be possible to make some kind of argument for it being 36.

However the sequence I've highlighted here is the obvious answer.
