I have a two part question.
First, I was asked "assuming a meaningful relationship is possible, what would your null and alternative hypotheses be? (Hint: They should be logical opposites. Also, you are testing a relationship; so use a relationship statistic to specify your hypotheses.)"

I answered:
So, my null hypothesis would be “the DJIA has no effect on the price of the DIS stock” and my alternative hypothesis is “the DJIA does affect the price of the DIS stock”.

I think I have teh Null/Alternative part correct, but I do not understand what it's saying about "use a relationship statistic"...is it asking for something more or is what I wrote a "relationship statistic"???


Second:
"How would you test your null hypothesis at the 95% confidence interval? (Hint: Apply and explain each of the hypothesis testing steps in your background information to testing for the relationship.)"

This - I don't understand At All. I looked in my background info and while I found a little on 95% confidence...it didn't really explain what it is, or how to do it. And I didn't see anything about hypothesis testing steps!! I'm SO Confused. Any help would be Greatly appreciated!!!
