so i multiply A by 2.471 to get H. therefore i would also devide H by 2.471to get A . thanks sooo much i apprechate it

You should've posted a new thread. Ok, I'll let go for now...

You have to say, let the side of the square be x. Then, the diagonal will be x + 2.

By Pythagoras theorem, the diagonal to the square equals the sum of the square of the two sides of your right angled triangle.

So,



Now, just solve, and you'll have x, the side of your square.
