algebra

Can you please help me with this algebra problem:

find points and slope of the following linear equation:
(y+1)= -1/2(x-2)

I know the slope is -1/2

Are the points (2, -1)????

Another problem I am having problems with:
Find the equation for the line that is parallel to the line with the eqaution:
(y-2)=3/4(x+5) passing through the point (0,-3)

And find the eqaution for the line that is perpendicular to the line with the equation 4x-2y= -8 passing through the point (-2, 4)

Thanks

The slope is indeed -1/2 (1 down, 2 over).
The intersection is 0,0
