Martial Arts and Physics?

Are there any books out there that treat martial arts from a physics point of view? Even better- Are there any teachers, professors, or instructors out there willing to collaborate on a book on the subject?

Jaun Tengo.

In order to cross the road like a Jedi, you must use the green cross code.
Relax your mind and tense your body, using minimum force take the path of
least ressistance to reach the desired objective.
In order to ready yourself for this ordeal it might help to do a few simple
exercises. Tense your shoulders and arms as hard as you can while clapping
your hands as gently as possible.

humm?

it is not the road you are on that you seek
but the destination at the end.

or perhaps you read the wrong map?

perhaps you posted in the wrong section

if up is down and the sky is blue, why are you still here?
do questions cause answers or just more questions

if reality is not what it seems, is that unseemly?

what if up is on the up and up? does that means you should get down with it?

answers and questions found at askmehelpdesk.com tune in next week.

Dont feed the troll

I agree with aerendil. If we all just go on with our posts and replies without acknowledging the antagonist, he will tire of his efforts, because all of us refuse to argue with him. He derives pleasure from arguing. Arguing feeds his pleasure.

If you stop feeding the varmits around our house they will move on to wherever they can find food.

i know my last post was kinda silly

i know my last post was kinda silly .. but only because i was trying to use philosophy to show a more direct viewpoint that the jedi viewpoint that was brought up by another person.

Secondly i am not a troll. i am merely answering questions that you and others asked. that you doubt me is you personal choice but does not change if i am right or wrong in my professional opinion about physics and how it is defined for personal combat. i do not find arguments fun, i find them inevitable when two people of different opinions, who are sincere, wish to try to convince, using evidence, others.

wow. that's the biggest argument I've seen without getting anywhere. they didn't even answer the guy's question!

...maybe they're married.

NEway, I found an essay on ARMA (another web site) that was about the physics of martial arts. It's probably the best thing you'll find on the web.

i have answered this question many times.

basic physics

e=mc^2 change of mass to energy or back
e=(mv^2)/(2) kinetic energy (note also equals e=ma).
moment arm = weight times length from focal point ==measured in pound feet.
torque = energy used in a circular path or half mass times rotational velcity^2 == measured in foot pounds.

the velocity squares the energy of impact. the mass only multiplies.

you hit with twice mass you two times harder.
you hit with twice velocity you hit four times harder.
you hit with twice mass and velocity you hit eight times harder.
you hit with three times the speed and hit nine times harder.

velocity is much more important than just mass. and that is before considering if you move that fast you can hit them before they can hit you, even if they start to swing first!
