How do I know if my husband is telling me the truth:confused:

We may need to hear a little bit more in order to give you a true idea but I would start with... trust?

I don't think you can really know.
But, there are things that can help us get an idea whether someone is tellng the truth.
Is this person usually trustworthy? Is he willing to tell the truth even if it hurts? [Example: Do these pants make me look fat? Um, well maybe you could wear your pretty skirt instead"] Or, has he lied in the past? Is it a about a particulat subject that could cause him to "lose face" if he doesn't answer in a particular way? People usually lie to save face or protect their pride, ego or image. Sometimes it's to protect another person's feelings. There are a myriad of reasons a person might lie. It comes down to maturity, integrity, the history in your relationship, and the context (I believe).
It makes me sad to know that you are wondering. :(
Another part to consider is--are you easy to tell the truth to?
(My mom wasn't--and I don't generally lie--but to her it wasn't safe to tell the truth sometimes)
Some folks have a hard time with some "truths".
