what tips should i arm myself with as a beginner in marketing?

Find out people's needs and meet them rather than try to convince people they need what you offer.

Know that a person needs to see things at least 3 times before they act on them, so you need to give different ad campaigns time to work. Sometimes it's more cost effective to buy several ads in the same paper [same day], than to purchase the same number of ads in a paper on consecutive days.

Know your consumer! All the advertising and marketing in the world is ineffective if the right people never see it.
