i remember this book i had when i was a child, it was a compilation of fairy folklore from all over the world. i think i bought the book at a book fair. i can only remember the beautiful illustrations and one story. the story was about a princess who was about to get married and fairies decided to bring her gifts, one went to the deepest part of the ocean and brought a sapphire, one went to a somewhere and brought her a ruby, and one went to somewhere else and got her a diamond. she couldnt decide which to wear and was very upset and so one fairy went to a volcano and dropped all 3 into it, making the first opal which the princess wore to her wedding..... any thoughts on the book??
