We have an older yellow rose bush-this past summer it did not bloom but went totally out of control, even cutting back only compounded the rapid growth. We finally dug it up yesterday, the roots were actually starting to grow under siding a foot or so from the bush itself. We loved the flowers but did not like the out of control growth as it was next to our garage door. Is it possible to take a cutting and propagate this bush or should we just forget it and buy a new yellow rose next year?

You could do it, you need to start with a good healthy plant. I think it may come back as a wild rose. Often when a rose is grafted to an inferior root stock and that sounds as tho what happened to your plant and it went back to a wild rose. I would buy a new one. I don't know where you live, but this happens in cooler weather. If you live in cooler weather plant your new plant deeper than you did the last one.

Rose what can of yellow rose...any way use a style of planting in notice while watching a documentary on french gardens...place the rose bush in a clay pot ...large enough to hold the plant and restrict it's growth...when you need to re-plant the rose bush... all you need to do is to move the potted plant to it's new location..
