trouble reading disc

my toshiba satellite was playing perfect then i started watching movies on it now i am trying to install my printer and it has a disc that needs to be read in order for installation to be completed.why is it not reading.(nothing is happening)

It may not have an autorun on it. Open the drive in windows explorer and run the Startup.

or check the disc itself for scratches, finger prints or whatever, and try cleaning it.
