Swapping Chargers

Is it alright to use a 19V, 3.16A charger in a laptop which uses a 19V 3.42A charger normally. Is it close enough?

Thankyou

Oh that's good to know. My charger has just died and it seems silly to buy a new one when we have so many knocking about the house as it is.
