Lenovo notebook compared to a laptop
Hello, I've been offered a lenovo r 61 Core2Duo. 1.8Ghz. 2gb ram. 120gb hdd for $200 Australian, similar price to others I'Core2Duo. 1.8Ghz I think. 2gb ram. 120gb hddve seen on eBay. I've been told notebooks and laptops are different in that notebooks are missing features like memory and drives etc. Is this a good deal? What would I be missing out on if I used this machine? And could I do so much better with a laptop for a little more $?
    Thank Guys!

NOTEbook and laptops are the same thing.
There's some confusion when talking about NETbooks, which are very different.

Well it's cheap enough, but bear in mind the tech is getting on for 5 years old now.
Might be worth looking around for a low level i3 which is part of the latest tech.

Thank you, I understand. Is it easy to learn the numbers needed to search for a better laptop myself? I'd like to check out oz auctions for a laptop. I need something that can cope with some games, maybe not the full on brand new 3d action games but enough that most will play and for viewing films and using the net for uni without long pauses etc. What do I need to look for? (if it's not too much bother)
    Thanks again!:)

Easiest way to do it is set a budget and go from there.
Normal case of numbers, bigger the better..
