My boyfriend once told me that there was a word in another language that does not translate to English. It is a heightened form of love, something that means much more than love. I've searched on Google, I've tried to find it, but I can't. What is that word?
This is just a guess, but maybe it is the word "agape?" But, it can be roughly translated to English. It does mean more than what we usually think of as love. (Without getting into the the definition of love here!)
While I don't believe it is agape, I also cannot find a word that cannot be translated into English. You need to ask your boyfriend, since he says he knows this word. Could be all gibberish. Could be something to it.
There is a Greek word for a special love, "Latreia", which is adoration, but that translates to English also.
